About
“To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment.”
Who I am and what motivates me
My name is Etienne Yvelin. My commitment to care and my curiosity about people led me to coaching. Formation at BAO-Elan Vital, Brussels, today, a member of the cooperative Smart I offer a space that takes all your dimensions into account, tailored to who you truly are. What drives me is supporting people who feel stuck, paralyzed, lost, to find meaning and movement again. Stuck relationships, existential crises: themes I've been through and continue to explore.
An atypical career
My path has followed several directions. Diagnosed with dyslexia and hyperactivity at a very young age, I chose engineering studies at 18, probably to escape writing. After my degrees, a few years of work, and some significant experiences, my passions for philosophy and people caught up with me. They led me to coaching, a path where I can fully support those going through their own questioning.
A Quest for Meaning and Links
Philosophy I don't adhere to a single philosophy and continue to explore new ones. However, I am particularly influenced by the existentialist and transcendentalist movements. As do Stoicism, Buddhism and Taoism, all of which inform my daily practice. that accompanies me every day is also one of the disciplines that helps me to better understand human behaviour. Relationships — with oneself, with others and with life — have always been at the heart of my concerns. What drives me is the richness of human connections and the constant quest for harmony between these dimensions.
A constant commitment to inclusive, caring coaching
I am committed to a process of continuous learning to refine my approach and enrich my practice. Sensitive to social issues — class inequality, racism, sexism, LGBTQIA+ rights, ... — I believe that everyone is free to express their identities and opinions. As a coach, my responsibility is to create an inclusive and caring environment where everyone can develop in safety. Each individual, in all their complexity, deserves caring attention and unconditional respect.
A global approach for a profound transformation
My approach, holistic and proactive, refuses transformation in a vacuum. What makes you unique and the social context you live in both matter. My work is based on questioning and concrete exercises, not ready-made advice. By listening to what you share, I can ask a question or suggest an exercise that invites you to look further. My presence is here to accompany you, not to direct you, because your capacity to act is already there, sometimes just dormant.
